The Importance of Creating Authentic Content

Since we began our journey as a start-up in December of 2016 we have strived to develop content and generate new leads for our clients in a way that fits their brand. The reason why this is so important to us is because we want our clients to be authentic. We don’t want them to be conveyed as something they are not as that would take away from what makes them the business that their customers, clients, followers and so on, know and love!

As silly as it may seem, being authentic in this day and age can be hard. Everyone wants to create a highlight reel or share the perfect product shot. We get it, we’ve been there. But to be authentic and true to who you are as a business, you also have to share those late night, early morning, behind the scenes moments too. Your customers, clients, and followers want to buy from or work with people who are real. They aren’t always going to pick your business over another’s because of your new "cutting edge" product... it doesn’t hurt but it’s not what is going to speak to your customer on an emotional level.

When we talked about Facebook and the rule of thirds in our last post, we mentioned personal content. If you’re working with an agency, this is where you need to have open communication about personal content creation and how you want your brand to be conveyed. However, if you are creating your own content this is where you have the opportunity to be truly, authentically, shamelessly you. People are going to learn to trust you and to look to you as a leader in your industry. When you can share not only informative content, but personal content as well you'll show them who the human is behind the business. 

 

If we could only give you one thing to take away from this post, it would be to tell a story. You know your target market better than anyone, trust that you can speak to them in a way that they can relate to.
