Why You Shouldn't Place A High Value On "Likes"
Social Media is an amazing tool that helps business owners to virtually surround themselves with their kind of people.
Social Media should be all about making connections, staying connected, and finding people that get you or your product/service.
Instead, a lot of people have become obsessed with the numbers beside their name, or the likes on their posts and guess what, business accounts are guilty of this too. If you’re one of those people, this message is for you.
If you’ve been following us for any length of time and listening to our message you’ll know that for us, the numbers beside the account name do not carry that same value as the real community that you are building beyond those numbers
Let us explain…
While engagement is ideal, the success of a post is not always indicative of the likes or comments you got on it. It’s actually quite rare for accounts to get more than 2-6% of their followers to engage with their content. Shocking, right?
What most people overlook, because they are so hung up on the likes, is the reach that the post got. Aka how many people actually saw the post. This is HUGE! This is where you see the impact that your content is making. And this is where you figure out what to do with your content -- what is the message you want to share?
Social platforms are powerful tools that help you reach your ideal audience, your people. So stop stressing over the likes and the number beside your name. Just keep sharing your message and staying true to your brand. Your people will find you.
And remember quality over quantity because anything worth doing is worth doing well.
